The ‘Amazon tax’ (also known as the ‘affiliate tax’) has not generated revenue in the state of Rhode Island since the tax was enacted last year yet state’s lawmakers still can’t comprehend that they are losing money NOT gaining any revenue from this tax.
Even the state’s General Treasurer Frank T. Caprio said: “The affiliate tax has hurt Rhode Island businesses and stifled their growth, as they’ve been shut out of some of the world’s largest marketplaces, and [it] should be repealed immediately.” Well DUH!
