Do You Twitter Yet?

Back in March (08) I was browsing Anthony Blake’s Entrepreneurial Success Forum and he was mentioning some “HOT” social application that is called Twitter. I was thinking, “Oh No! Not another MySpace type clone!”

So I signed up to see what it was all about. It’s kinda kool. You have 140 “characters” to get your message across. NO long winded dissertations. Direct and simple. At first I thought it was too gimmicky and would be a BIG “time waster”. So I played with it a bit. You can “follow” other people and people can “follow” you. Takes awhile to get used to but it’s defintely KOOL!

Then I was reading a post Lynn Terry’s blog at ClickNewz.com . She was starting to investigate Twitter herself and blogged about it. As usual, Lynn has a true “knack” for putting a potential marketing application to good use.

Three months later, I’m STILL using Twitter. I still don’t use it alot BUT I do check it several times a day to see what’s going on. It’s amazing what one can learn about by reading those 140 character messages.

Oh Yeah … It’s NOT always about business. I have alot of fun while on Twitter too! People are a bit more relaxed. It CAN be a huge “time suck” if you let it but the benefits outweigh any disadvantages.
